Power Stair Lifts is committed to bringing the latest and best technology to provide accessibility to Lehigh Valley residents with mobility challenges. This is why we feature products such as the Hamar VPLX-DC platform lift.

What is a vertical platform lift?

A vertical platform lift is a mobility device designed to transport a person in a wheelchair, scooter, or standing position up and down between two levels of a building. It is also known as a porch lift or wheelchair lift, and it provides a safe and convenient way for individuals with mobility issues to access different levels of a building, such as a porch, balcony, or raised deck. VPLs are for commercial and residential applications.

Would a VPL better suit my needs than a ramp?

VPLs have a small footprint compared to modular ramps. When it comes to ramps, 1″ rise equals 1′ of ramping. So, a 24″ set of steps would require 24′ of modular ramping. That’s a lot of ramp! This VPL provides access to decks, porches, and your garage entry.

Can I fit my mobility device in the lift?

Yes! The VPLX-DC provides heavy-duty lifting for you and your mobility device up to 4′ or 6′ to accommodate most mobility devices, the user, or their caregiver.

Is a vertical platform lift convenient to use?

Designed for reliability and simplicity, this lift is powered entirely by four onboard batteries—no AC power required. Its 48-volt system ensures consistent operation even as battery life decreases, keeping users moving without interruption. The all-new plug-and-play wiring design eliminates hardwiring, making installation fast and mistake-proof, while the integrated tower disconnect means no outside contractor or complex site prep is needed—just plug into a standard GFCI outlet and go. Available in 4- and 6-foot models at launch, this lift is built with Agency and VA applications in mind, making it a perfect fit for garages and accessibility projects alike.
