As boomers in the Lehigh Valley age, residential home elevators are becoming popular, even for people who don’t need them. “I just want the convenience and luxury of having an elevator in my house. I don’t need it now, but at some point, my wife or I will need help getting up and down,” said Joseph, a recent Power Stair Lifts customer.

As they seek to downsize, rightsize, or just relocate to a new home, baby boomers are making preparations to remain at home for as long as possible. Almost everyone wants to remain in their home and neighborhood for as long as possible, and now a lot of people are laying the plans to achieve those dreams. It also helps that home elevators have streamlined their designs and mechanics to become an affordable option for families and couples. Power Stair Lifts is an approved and certified installer and distributor for Savaria, providing industry-leading in-home accessibility with product options that include traditional straight stair lifts, curved stair lifts, and a variety of home elevators.

Home elevator options vary and product options must fit the confines of the home where each elevator will be installed. Depending on the amount of construction and site work needed, a home elevator can be purchased and installed for as little as $25,000, but most projects will cost more. Below are home elevator products offered by Savaria.

SAVARIA VUELIFT

An extraordinary home elevator, the Savaria Vuelift is a panoramic glass or acrylic lift with integrated hoistway. Offered in a round or octagonal-shaped design, the Vuelift offers great flexibility for placement in the home due to its 360-clear construction—beautiful in the center of a room, attached to a balcony or mezzanine, or in the center of a spiral staircase. TRADITIONAL HOISTWAY ELEVATORS

Savaria makes a range of elevators for residential use, including the new Zenith home elevator that features an ultra-quiet drive system with a machine-roomless option. We also offer the Savaria Infinity, with smooth-riding hydraulic drive, and our best-selling Savaria Eclipse elevator with its chain-drive system. Our traditional elevators are fully automatic and operate with the touch of a button. All of these products offer the same wide selection of finishing options for the elevator cab interior, operating fixtures, and doors and gates. Our cab configurator helps you visualize how the elevator will look with virtually any combination of factory-provided options.

A SIMPLE THROUGH-THE-FLOOR LIFT

The Savaria Telecab is an accessibility lift that can service two floors. The enclosed cab travels on a tower that houses the motor and drive, and the tower is secured to a support wall. With a simple floor cut-out, the lift operates up and down with constant pressure controls without the need for a constructed hoistway. Ideally suited for accessibility purposes when a traditional elevator cannot be accommodated, the Savaria Telecab is available with a 500 lb. capacity, or for up to 845 lbs. with the Telecab 17 model.

The best way to investigate if a home elevator is right for your home, whether it is new or existing construction, is to call an experienced and certified Savaria home elevator representative in your area.
