Pennsylvania Assistive Technology Foundation (PATF) provides low-interest loans and financing for eligible residents needing stair lifts in Pennsylvania. PATF is a statewide, non-profit organization that helps individuals with disabilities and older Pennsylvanians acquire the assistive technology devices and services they need. PATF is a state- and federally-certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) and is the Commonwealth’s designated Alternative Financing Program (AFP) under the federal Assistive Technology Act. PATF is one of 42 AFPs and state financing entities in the U.S. and territories.
Their mission is to provide financing opportunities, education, and advocacy for people with disabilities and older Pennsylvanians, helping them acquire the assistive technology devices and services that improve their quality of life.
Their goal is to help people of all ages, all income levels, and all disabilities and health conditions.

PATF can help people of all ages, disabilities, and health conditions.
People of all income levels can apply for a loan. An applicant must have the ability and willingness to repay a loan.
All PATF loan applications must include a vendor quote that specifies the cost of the assistive technology that will be purchased with the loan. PATF can extend loans in amounts lower than the cost of the assistive technology, but cannot extend a loan in an amount greater than the cost of the assistive technology.
PATF will extend loans to purchase a broad range of assistive technology. Examples include, but are not limited to, the following:
Loan repayment terms The length of the loan term is based on the expected useful life of the assistive technology device to be purchased.
PATF does not discriminate on the basis of race, disability, color, national origin, age, gender, creed, sexual orientation, or gender identity or expression. All borrowers are treated fairly according to the same standards.
The loan applicant can be the person with the disability, an older Pennsylvanian, or someone who is applying on behalf of the person with the disability, including a family member or acquaintance.
